Senior Group Leader

About the Role:

As we approach our 100th birthday we have embarked on an exciting new restructure of our Technical Operations team. This restructure reflects that Thornton & Ross are key part of the global business STADA Arzneimittel AG who are one of the fastest growing Pharmaceutical and OTC (“Over the counter”) companies in Europe. As part of this change, we have created a new position of Senior Group Leader to provide the expertise, leadership and passion to create not only a best in class production environment but a truly, great place to work.

You will be responsible for ensuring all objectives on safety, quality, cost and on-time delivery goals are achieved. Reporting directly to the Process Unit Head, you will manage all day to day operations within your designated value stream with a high degree of autonomy and management of the critical support functions associated with your value stream. This will also mean that you will be key in supporting the operational delivery of business strategy but also have the capability to use data to find areas of opportunity.

You will have several direct reports (Group Leaders) along with dotted line management of your process units support functions (Engineering, Planning ETC) and will play an essential role, coordinating and leading your team to deliver operational excellence throughout your process unit. As part of your expertise, we expect that you have the skills and experience to mentor, train and engage with your team and peers, to bring them on the journey towards world class manufacturing.

We would like the Senior Group Leader (you) to be able to speak fluent lean manufacturing, be flexible in your approach to people and have the ability to influence stakeholders across the business. About You:

Can you do it? Yes you can, if you’re keen to add value and see results, thrive under pressure and have the can-do spirit that’s spearheading our success, bring those qualities, with the following

  • Minimum 5 years GMP experience in manufacturing function(s) and 3 years’ experience in plant manufacturing operation of a facility.
  • Liquid or semi-solid manufacturing experience preferable
  • HNC / HND or equivalent experience
