Leading pharmaceutical manufacturer STADA Thornton & Ross has announced a new partnership with Huddersfield Town Foundation, the official charity of Huddersfield Town. Together, they aim to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for people across Kirklees through a series of community-focused programmes and initiatives.

STADA Thornton & Ross is one of the UK’s leading producers of consumer healthcare products, owning trusted brands such as Covonia®, Savlon®, Hedrin®, Nizoral® Cetraben® and Zoflora®. And its Generics and Specialty medicines, also support a sustainable and cost-efficient NHS, widening patient access to effective treatments.

This collaboration brings together two ‘Yorkshire powerhouses’ with deep roots in the local community, united in their commitment to improving health and wellbeing across Kirklees.

The partnership’s primary focus is to drive measurable improvements in both physical and mental wellbeing, while encouraging healthier lifestyles across Kirklees. This will be delivered through a range of programmes designed to support young people, adults, and communities facing health inequalities.

The initiative will include self-care and nutrition workshops in schools, community football sessions, health awareness campaigns, care home activities, and wider wellbeing events.

As part of the programme, Huddersfield Town Foundation will deliver a six week health and wellbeing curriculum in schools, alongside free community football sessions in Linthwaite. Additional activities will support older people through engagement in care homes and day centres, helping to tackle loneliness, improve mobility, and promote self-care.

James Collett, CFO at STADA Thornton & Ross, said: "As a business that has been a proud part of the Kirklees community for generations, we are delighted to partner with Huddersfield Town Foundation. Together, we share a commitment to improving lives and helping people lead healthier, happier lives.

“This partnership enables us to extend our purpose beyond our much loved brands and healthcare products we provide every day, creating meaningful opportunities and networks to support wellbeing in the communities where our colleagues live and work.

“Having lived and worked in the area for more than 20 years, I’m super excited to see the positive impact this collaboration will have."

Sam Dainty, Chief Executive of Huddersfield Town Foundation, added: "We are delighted to be partnering with STADA Thornton & Ross, an organisation that shares our passion for creating healthier communities and improving lives across Kirklees.

Through this partnership, we will be able to reach more people with programmes that promote health, wellbeing, and opportunity. By combining the Foundation’s community expertise with STADA’s commitment to healthcare and prevention, we can make a lasting difference for people of all ages across our region."

Alongside the delivery of community programmes, the partnership will also include a schedule of engagement activities and events for STADA Thornton & Ross employees, including health activations, match tickets and educational workshops.
